The job
Trim trees, bin repair, summer prune trees, planting tree, tractor driving work, driving farm vehicles, orchard & building maintenance, storage work, bin repair, mowing, and apple harvest. Load and unload crops or containers of materials, manually or using conveyors, handtrucks, forklifts, or transfer augers. -Mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery. -Spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus and weed growth, and diseases, using hand sprayers. -Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions. -Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery, building maintenance, - Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, combines, and irrigation equipment. -Adjust, repair, and service farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions. -Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools. -Direct and monitor the activities of work crews engaged in planting, weeding, or harvesting activities. - Operate towed machines such as seed drills or manure spreaders to plant, fertilize, dust, and spray crops. -Weigh crop-filled containers, and record weights and other identifying information. -Walk beside or ride on planting machines while inserting plants in planter mechanisms at specified intervals. -Operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (weather on or off the farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach the farm fields); and/or transport workers to the grocery store, bank, or laundry facilities on an as needed basis Those that are requested to drive will be required to possess an appropriate license, no one will be rejected for this position that does not possess a drivers license.
Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
Meals: A free fully stocked kitchen with appliances pots and pans with utensils is available, the farmer will transport the workers to the store and bank weekly for all their grocery needs. Workers will buy and prepare their own food.
Transport: The employer will provide or pay for charter bus services or other modes of transportation to groups of workers, or permit workers to select any means of transportation they choose and reimburse workers at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distances involved for both inbound and outbound transportation for both to and from the place of employment.
